Patricia Cartwright Sparrow, 45, of Belhaven, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017. Ms. Sparrow was born in Beaufort County on Oct. 10, 1971.

She loved her horses, Stetson and Tink, as well as her grandhorse, JD; her dog Sassy and granddog Koda, her family, her friends, cowboy boots, fast cars and just about anything purple.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Ashley Cartwright, of Belhaven; her stepdaughters Elizabeth Sparrow, of Belhaven, and McKenzie Adams, of Pink Hill; her stepson, Ethan Sparrow, of Belhaven; her sisters, Mona Cartwright Ross of Washington, Christina Escobar and her husband Nicolas of Roper, and Amanda Cartwright and her husband Aldolfo of New Bern; her brothers, Justin Smith and wife Jessica of Aurora, Colorado, Philip Cartwright of Greenville, Lyn Cartwright and his wife Ashley of Farmville, Selena, Samantha, Isabella and Joshua Garcia, all of New Bern; her parents, Macel (Mother) and Jack Willard of Washington, and Bobby Cartwright (Father) of Greenville, Jackie Nowarah of New Bern, and Judy Skinner of Washington; her niece, Jessica Cartwright of Washington; nephews, Dustin Ross of Washington, Josiah and Jayden Escobar of Roper; her niece Angelica, Adriana, and Alicia Perez of New Bern, and Andrea Chavarria of New Bern; and great-nephew Kane Cartwright of Washington.

A celebration of Ms. Sparrow’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, in Old Ford Church of Christ. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations will be accepted to assist with final expense in the form of cash or check payable to Ashley Cartwright.
