Published 5:47 pm Friday, February 10, 2017

The shelter is offering reduced rates for spaying/neutering through the month of February for cats and dogs.

Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs, ENC Shelter Cats and Washington Cat Rescue on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. Max

Handsome is as handsome does, and Max’s personality fits his good looks to the … maximum. At 1 year and 6 months, this large Retriever-mix is friendly — though selective with other dogs; smart — he knows several commands and does well on a leash; and playful — loves to play with squeaky toys, retrieves and gives it back! Sweet Max is already neutered and ready to go to a good, loving forever home after his reduced fee is paid. He will be a faithful companion with owner(s) willing to give him affection, good care, exercise in a fenced area or on a leash and basic obedience training. For more photos, visit www.facebook.com/EncShelterDogs and click on the appropriate links. Max’s ID#0097.

Come spend some time with Max; he’s available at the shelter through next Saturday.

Si

Meet our gorgeous Siamese-mix cat named Si. At 1 year old, he is a small cat with a beautiful shorthair coat of creamy white. His Siamese points — ears, face, paws and very long tail — are a luscious seal brown. His eyes are china blue; unfortunately, he is blind in one of his eyes. Si has a slightly smaller, identical brother named Am (not pictured), who is also blind in the same eye as Si. These good-looking brothers are bonded and quite fearful, but have adjusted well to life at the shelter. These fellows are frightened and will need patient owner(s) willing to give them love, care and help as they transition to life in their new forever home. Come in and get acquainted; both are available through next Saturday. Requests for more information regarding cats Si and Am, may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter, or email  animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us. Use Si’s ID#0142 and Am’s ID#0143.
