A 10-year-old child was hit by a vehicle Sunday morning a few miles from the Pitt County-Beaufort County line, according to authorities.

The accident happened around 9:30 a.m., and first responders were called to Poorman’s Flea Market off of U.S. Highway 264.

The child suffered minor injuries and was taken to Vidant Medical Center for treatment.
