Mr. Jackie Phillip Jones, age 81, a resident of Camp Leach Road, Washington, died Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Pitt Vidant Medical Center. Jackie was born December 5, 1935 to the late John Sherman “Jack” and Josephine Elizabeth Alligood Jones in Beaufort County, NC.

He was a 1954 graduate of Bath High School. On September 1, 1956 he married the love of his life, the former Suzanne Perry. Jackie worked for Washington Packing Company for 17 years, Flanders Filters for 13 years and The City of Washington for 9 years. In addition to his wife Suzanne Jones, he is also survived by his daughter Sharon and husband James Williams and their children Jason and wife Jade, Beth Latham and husband Stephen; son Phil Jones and wife Mandy and their children Lindsay Dickerson and Cassie Jones; daughter Becky Woolard and husband Carl and their son Derek and his fiancée Haley Ambrose; daughter Angie Garriss and her husband Lee and their daughter Josie; and great-grandchildren: Bryson and Emorie Dickerson, Braydon Chandler and Wyatt Latham. He was especially looking forward to the birth of his great-granddaughter, Rhylynn Woolard, due in March. A graveside celebration of his life will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens, officiated by Pastor Tony Krantz. The following will serve as pallbearers: Michael Jones, Marvin Lee “Pee Wee” Jones, David Watson, Jeffery Spain, John Hawkins and Steve Swain. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Hillside Funeral Service and other times at the home. Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 Hwy 264 E, Washington, has been given the honor of being entrusted with serving the Jones family.
