Congratulations to Alondra from Care-O-World in Washington for creating the winning artwork that was selected for this year’s Week of the Young Child T-shirt contest. Alondra’s message, “love is all over the world,” resonated with the Beaufort-Hyde Partnership for Children T-shirt selection committee and will be showcased on the T-shirts worn by hundreds of supporters in celebration of Week of the Young Child, April 23-29.

Join the Partnership for Children in “painting the town blue” in celebration of our youngest learners and in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month in April by wearing this year’s T-shirt on April 27. Children, families, teachers and community partners will march in the Children’s Parade at 10 a.m. in downtown Washington wearing a sea of blue T-shirts. The fun will continue at the Children’s Festival held at Festival Park on the Washington waterfront. from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“We are asking businesses, organizations and others throughout the community to join us by wearing blue on April 27 to show support for our children in ensuring they are happy, safe and successful,” said Lisa Woolard, executive director for the Partnership for Children.
