Dorothy Ann Fleming Boykin

Dorothy Ann Fleming Boykin, age 74, a resident of Belhaven, died at home on Monday, February 20, 2017. Mrs. Boykin was born in Parmele, NC on December 28, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Robert Earl and Dorothy Mae Fleming.

Mrs. Boykin graduated from Wake Memorial Nursing School in Raleigh, NC in 1964. She worked at Wilson Memorial Hospital for 13 years. Following that, she worked at Westwood Manor Nursing Home for 13 years. In 1989, she and her husband moved to Belhaven. Mrs. Boykin worked at the Pungo District Hospital from 1989 until she retired in 2007.

On February 13, 1977, Ann Fleming married David Boykin. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Smithton. She and her husband worked with the Coast Guard for many years. She also enjoyed working in her flowers and garden, and caring for her multitude of humming birds.

Surviving are her husband David Boykin; sister, Rebecca Grady and her husband Donald; a niece and nephew and their families; several cousins; and their adopted family, Peggy and Kevan Groome and their daughter Rikki Ann.
