Pamlico Sail & Power Squadron hosts Change of Watch

The Pamlico Sail & Power Squadron held its 16th-annual Change of Watch on Feb. 18, at the Washington Yacht & Country Club. The Change of Watch is an event where casual dress is stepped up a notch and our PSPS officers are in uniform. Accompanied by his wife, District 27’s administrative officer, D/Lt/C Greg Shay, JN, traveled from Raleigh to preside over the Change of Watch and installation of the new Bridge Officers. The new Bridge consists of: Commander Joe Sevick, P; Executive Officer Bill Templeton, P; Education Officer Linda Erickson, P; Administrative Officer Kay Graham, S; Secretary Janet Neckyfarow, JN, and Carl Erickson, S. Assistants to the Bridge officers include: Assistant Educational Officer Kelly Adams, AP; Assistant Administrative Officer (boating) Rob Dare, P; Assistant Administrative Officer (meetings) John Osborn; Assistant Treasurer Bob Young, AP, and Assistant Secretary Mary Paulson.
Past Commander Tom Graham, SN, referred to the Accomplishment Report, indicating that 2016 was another very successful year for PSPS. The 2017 budget was presented and approved by membership.
In addition to our annual meeting and the installation of officers for 2017, a highlight was the recognition of outstanding efforts and awards for achievement given to various members for their contribution to the squadron mission. Those awards included: Education Award, Bill Scholl; Past Commanders Award, Sharon Alligood, S; Communication Award, Chris Young, S; Perseverance Award, Kelly Adams, AP; Bent Prop Award, Tom Walker; and Commander’s Award, Bill Templeton, P.
