A Washington man was allegedly stabbed late Thursday night, according to authorities.
At about 10:30 p.m., Washington Police responded to a 911 call around the 800 block of Van Norden Street. Police are not giving details on the name of the 911 caller.
Upon arrival, authorities learned that James Earl Griffin, 37, of West Seventh Street, had allegedly been stabbed following an altercation with another unidentified male. Griffin was transported to Vidant Beaufort Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“It was determined that there was an altercation that occurred at the 300 block of West Seventh Street,” said Stacy Drakeford, director of Washington Police and Fire Services.
Drakeford said Griffin was not cooperating with the investigation as of Friday afternoon, so authorities are unable to press charges at this time.
“In the course of the investigation, nobody’s cooperating,” he said. “Once the victim cooperates, then we might be able to draw some charges.”
Drakeford said the investigation is ongoing.
