Ottis E. Sadler

Ottis Earl Sadler, 90, of Swan Quarter, died, Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Cross Creek Health Care Center, surrounded by his family.

Born in Hyde County, January 3, 1927, he was the son of the late Herbert Lee and Katie Zerola Midgette Sadler. He was married to the former Marjorie Gibbs who preceded him in death.

He was owner and operator of Sadler and Son Grain, later becoming Lake Phelps Grain.

Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2017 at the family plot in Soule Cemetery. Pastor Jerald Craddock officiated.

Surviving is a son, Scott R. Sadler and wife Vicki of Swan Quarter; two daughters, Veronica S. Marshall and husband Martelle of Engelhard, Deborah S. Hodges and husband Binnie of Swan Quarter; seven grandchildren, Brandon Marshall and wife Adriane of Engelhard, Justin Marshall and wife Amy of Carolina Beach, Brian Marshall and wife Abigail of Engelhard, Jake Hodges and wife Shelley of Fairfield, Austin Hodges and wife Julie of Swan Quarter, Christie Sadler of Swan Quarter, Mindy Sadler of Swan Quarter, Karen Sadler of Swan Quarter; thirteen great-grandchildren, Ciara, Molly, Makenzie, Kloey, Carsyn, Watson, Vivian, Melony Grace, Bailey, Kaylee, Rex, Kolin, Hunter and a sister, Betty S. Spencer of Engelhard.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson Nicholas Sadler; two brothers Herbert Lee “H.L.” Sadler and Gervis Sadler; and a sister Edith S. Pugh.

Friends may visit with the family at the home place on 20925 US 264, Swan Quarter.
