President Ann Cayton opened the Richland Seniors March 7 meeting with 23 members present.
Mary Galloway gave our devotion, led in the “Lord’s Prayer” and in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Annette Smith gave our treasurer’s report; Ann Cayton reported on Ruth’s House —donations are still needed and she asked that we try to remember to contribute.
Ann Windley reported that the Blood Mobile will be held on March 22 at PCS, and the Senior members will provide the sandwiches and cookies and volunteers to help with this event.
Alice Briley thanked all who participated in the Alpha 0mega Dinner held on March 2. She said it was a huge success, and she read a very complimentary thank you letter from the group.
Alice gave a list of possible days trips to choose from for later in the year and gave a status report of minor repairs needed for the outside of our club building. She has contacted the County Manager to look into the matter, and, as of this writing, we have not gotten a reply.
She also asked for volunteers to help revise the club’s bylaws.
Ken Lilly reported that some thought needs to be put into establishing a choir: A keyboard is needed, and if anyone has one that they would like to donate to this project, please call one of our members.
Sandy Lilly talked about the Fossil Festival in May and Ken ask if the club could donate to the Fossil Fund. The club voted to donate.
Myra Mayo invited the club to services at South Creek Baptist Church the first Sunday in May, as Eric Horner will be there in concert.
JoNell Barber presented us with our thought for the day, Ann Windley led us in exercise and Myra Mayo won the 50/50 drawing and donated it back to the club.
James Parker led us in prayer and blessed our food .
