The Washington High School graduating class of 1952 met on April 22 at Pizza Inn to celebrate the 65th anniversary of their high school graduation. About half of the 100 members still survive. Happily, 20 of them were able to come to the reunion and share memories.
After the welcome, Frank Sheppard blessed the food and gave thanks for the opportunity to gather together.
Among those who attended were Vail Kugler Hawkins, Alice Walker Lynch, Mr. and Mrs. Zeno Everette, Becky Leggett Brown, Cathy Cox Riggs and husband, Joyce Andreoli Bell and her granddaughter, John Hoyt, Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Arnold, Joyce Hill Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Williamson, Mr. and Mrs. Durwood Jones, Carroll Jarvis, Colleen Moore and James Lupton, Frank Sheppard, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Jefferson, Bobby Alligood, Peggy Peele Waters, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Harris, Grace Broome, Eleanor Oakley Trigg and son David Sills. All in all, a total of 20 class members, eight spouses and a granddaughter and a son attended.
Everyone enjoyed “catching up” and exchanging memories. This was the last class to graduate from the old Washington High School building at Bridge and Second streets.
