Art Walk celebrates downtown creativity

Thursday evening’s Art Walk celebrated the creative arts, including paintings, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, wearable art and photography.

The event is expected to be the first of several hosted by downtown Washington’s six art galleries: Arts of the Pamlico/Turnage Theatre, River Walk Gallery and Arts Center, Art on Market, Art Tyndall Studio, Lone Leaf Gallery & Custom Framing and Lemonade Art Gallery.

A focal point of the celebration was the opening of the African American Heritage Music Trail exhibition, complemented by live blues music, at the Turnage Theatre.

The Turnage also offered a sneak peek at some of the early entries in this year’s Little Art Exhibit, a fundraiser for the Arts of the Pamlico and its many efforts toward providing arts activities in the community, as can be seen below.
