Bath student graduates from College of Optometry

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Cameron Waters Clinard, O.D., of Bath, North Carolina, was among 129 students recently awarded the doctor of optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis.
Waters Clinard graduated summa cum laude and Beta Sigma Kappa, a designation for students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement. She was also selected for the Beaver-Visitec International Inc. Partners in Optometry Award for demonstrating excellence in ocular disease.
A native of Bath, Waters Clinard is the daughter of Karen and Kenneth Heffley of Bath, and Beverly and Anthony Waters of Pinetown. She is the granddaughter of Carol Waters of Pinetown; Edna Heffley Havelock; and Jennette Braswell of Washington. She is married to Cameron Clinard of Greenville.
She is a graduate of Northside High School in Pinetown and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in biology.
Optometrists are independent, primary health-care providers, who specialize in the examination, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases/disorders of the visual system, the eye and associated structures, as well as the diagnosis of related systemic conditions.
