The annual Memorial Day observance will be held at 8 a.m., Sunday, May 28, in Madge L. Van Horne Auditorium.

Leroy Spivey of Columbia, U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, will speak about the Vietnam Wall.

Appropriate ceremonies will honor those, especially from Tyrrell County, who did not return.

Elmo Hassell, commander of Glynn T. Cahoon Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, invites everyone to remember their fellow Americans who paid the ultimate sacrifice for freedom by participating in the Memorial Day service in Columbia.
