Margaret Foreman Woolard Sheppard

Ms. Margaret Foreman “Woolard” Sheppard, age 96, died Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Ridgewood Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. A native of Beaufort County, Ms. “Woolard” Sheppard was the daughter of the late Johnnie E. and Nancy Boyd Foreman. She was the widow of Leslie Rollins Woolard with whom she had three children. She later married Wilbur Sheppard who also preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by two children: daughter, Avis Crosby Woolard, and son, Ryan Douglas Woolard. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Dallas Foreman, Ervin Foreman and Dennis Foreman, and one sister, Delsie F. Waters.

Margaret was an avid musician, having taught piano for over 40 years. She was very dedicated to her church, Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church, and her ministry was the music program there. She is survived by her daughter, June Elizabeth Woolard of Washington; her grandson, L. Robert (Robbie) Cartwright Jr., and his wife, Elizabeth Bowen Cartwright of Denver, CO; three stepchildren, Jerry Sheppard and his wife, Edna, Glenn Sheppard and his wife, Linda, Steve Sheppard, of Maggie Valley, NC; five step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church, Pinetown, with Octavis Wallace, Greg Ramsey and Bobby Owens officiating.

Music will be provided by Kim Windley Kimber Seachris and Robbie Mayo. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Dallas Foreman, Danny Foreman, Octavis Wallace, Ted Wallace, Glenn Sheppard Jr. and Travis Sheppard will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church, 7099 North Boyd Road, Pinetown, NC 27865, or the Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 90611, Washington, DC 20090.

Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 Hwy 264 East, Washington, has been given the honor of being entrusted with serving the Woolard-Sheppard family.
