Mr. David Wayne Sawyer, age 57, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017.

A memorial service was held Friday, June 23, 2017 at Wellspring Community Church in Clayton, N.C., where David was a member.

David was born on June 18, 1960 at Ft. Belvoir, VA. He is the son of Ray Wayne and Carol Smith Sawyer, formerly of Washington. He graduated from Washington High School in 1978, and from East Carolina University in 1982. He was an over the road truck driver and training engineer for Schneider International Trucking.

In addition to his parents, David is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, George and Samantha Sawyer of Baton Rouge, LA; sister Rae Reinink of Fuquay-Varina; nieces Rebecca Liverman, Eve Honeycutt, Avery Reinink and Janna Reinink and nephew Jacob Reinink.
