Mrs. Irene Elizabeth Wilson, 86, was born June 16, 1931 in Plymouth, North Carolina to the late John Jethro and Essie Davenport Jethro. She went to her eternal home on June 25, 2017.

Irene was a devoted wife, mother, and mammaw. She devoted her life to serving the Lord. She was known as a diligent prayer warrior and encourager in the faith. She was a member of the Plymouth Church of God where she was active in many roles.

In later years she worked for the Roses Corporation where she became a friend to many in the public. Irene loved her family. She enjoyed having family and friends gather in her home for home cooked meals and fellowship where many memories were made.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Arthur B. Wilson; her son Charles Keith Wilson; four brothers: Bobby Ray Jethro, Russell Jethro, James Jethro and John Jethro; and one sister Iva Dean Sawyer.

Irene is survived by her daughter Carolyn Dees and her husband Randy; daughter-in–law Connie Casey; six grandchildren: Curtis Wilson (Holly), Lori Gross (Matt), Kay Patrick (T.C.), James Dees (Jamie) Jacob Dees and Stephen Dees (Ellen); three great-grandchildren: Tyler Phelps, Jack Patrick and John Dees; one sister Harriet Person (Tom); and three brothers: Shelton Jethro (Juanita), Paul Jethro (Liz) and Phillip Jethro (Darlene).

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Plymouth Church of God in Plymouth, with Phillip Jethro officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 30 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Plymouth Church of God Missions Fund.
