From Columbia Lions Club
The Columbia Lions Club received a surprise when they counted the money raised from their Brighter Visions fundraiser held Friday afternoon, June 16th, at the Columbia Food Lion Supermarket. Include in their collection container was a man’s wedding band.
Lions Club members are concerned that the ring was dropped into the container by mistake of slipped off someone’s finger. The owner can reclaim the ring by contacting Club President Luther Daniels at 252-305-1284 and describing the ring’s distinctive features.
“We appreciate all donations to our humanitarian fundraising campaign,” Daniels said, “but we do not want to separate an individual from something as valuable as a wedding band.”
Brighter Visions is the North Carolina Lions Club annual campaign that supports a wide range of programs and services for the blind and visually impaired.
The Columbia Lions Club is also a major sponsor of the annual North Carolina Visually Impaired Person (VIP) Fishing Tournament. That event brings more than 500 VIP’s to the Outer Banks for fishing, recreation and independent living education.
The Columbia Lions Club meets 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at Columbia Crossing Restaurant, 6:PM. Visitors and others interested in membership
