Lynda B. Vaughan

Mrs. Lynda Barr Vaughan, age 70, a resident of 1130 East Barr Road, Chocowinity, died Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Friday, September 8, 2017 at Providence Cemetery, Highway 33 East, Chocowinity, conducted by Pastor Joe Ange.

Mrs. Vaughan was born in Beaufort County on December 4, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Lenwood Barr and Inez Russell Ingalls Barr. Mrs. Vaughan was a retired keypunch operator at Hamilton Beach with 28 years of service. She was a member of the Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church where she served in the nursery. In her spare time, Mrs. Vaughan loved to make porcelain dolls, sewing and crocheting. She was an animal lover and enjoyed going to the beach.

Mrs. Vaughan was married to Kindrick L. Vaughan, who survives.

Surviving with her husband are daughter, Kathleen Armstrong of Chocowinity; grandson, Kenneth “Bunky” Armstrong Jr. of Chocowinity; granddaughters, Samantha and Amber Armstrong, both of Winston-Salem; and brother-in-law, Charles Vaughan of Chocowinity.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vaughan was preceded in death by a son, Kirby O’Neal Jr.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Friday, September 8, 2017 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at her home.
