From over 4,000 boutiques worldwide, The Plum Pony Boutique in Columbia has won the hearts of both local and global shoppers being voted into the final round of the 2017 Boutique Awards in the state of North Carolina as a contender for Best Storefront Boutique of the Year.
The Boutique Awards is the only global recognition event for independent boutique retail owners in the fashion industry, hosted by The Boutique Hub. The awards recognize and celebrate the best boutiques across all 50 states in the U.S., Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom, in the categories of Storefront Boutique of the Year, Online Boutique of the Year, Children’s Boutique of the Year, Mobile Boutique of the Year, and State or Country Overall Boutique of the Year.
Already, the awards have garnered over 300,000 votes from shoppers and consumers who love boutique shopping worldwide, and voting wrapped up Aug. 21, on www.theboutiqueawards.com.
The awards celebrates retail at a unique time, when many are dubbing a current retail apocalypse; however, industry trends show a strong upswing in the boutique retail market.
The Plum Pony Boutique began as an online-only business in August 2013 and then expanded to brick and mortar in February 2014. The Plum Pony strives to offer an enjoyable and affordable shopping experience with prices to fit everyone’s budget. Customers can shop online through their Facebook or Instagram pages, or the store location at 412 Scuppernong Drive in Columbia.
“I am so incredibly humbled and honored to be nominated for this award! To make the top five out of 4,000 boutiques is truly an honor and just blows me away! I am so grateful for the support my customers have shown throughout the last four years. It is a great joy and privilege to serve women all over the U.S., and an even greater joy to serve the local ladies right here in my hometown. I am so very blessed,” owner Nikki Norman said.
