Mrs. Lora Grace Allen Vann, age 84, a resident of 9391 NC Hwy 99 N. Pantego, NC died Friday September 15, 2017 at Vidant Medical Center of Greenville.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday September 18, 2017 at Union Grove Church of Christ officiated by Scott Askew and Rupert Wallace. Burial will follow in Davis Cemetery of Pantego. Pallbearers will be Robbie Harris, Bradley Sawyer, Justin Allen, Ed Ange, Todd Ange and Justin Mazza.
The family will receive friends Sunday September 17, 2017 at Union Grove Church of Christ and other times at the home.
Mrs. Vann was born in Beaufort County on July 20, 1933 daughter of the late Jessie Norwood Allen and the late Leona Adams Allen. She was a graduate of Pantego High School. On September 28, 1952 she married Wylie Vann, Jr. who preceded her in death on November 28, 2011. Mrs. Vann worked with the Beaufort County Schools Systems as a manager of Pantego High School and Northside High School cafeteria. She was a member of Union Grove Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter: Joy V. Webster (George) of Pantego; a son: Jerry A. Van (Karen) of Pantego; a daughter-in-law: Elaine G. Vann of Kill Devil Hills; a brother: Norman Allen of Pantego; a sister: Linda Ange of Plymouth; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two devoted caregivers: Jane Hershey and Brooke Martin. Mrs. Van was predeceased by a daughter: Teresa V. Hollowell and a son: Wylie Norwood Vann.
