During the month of October reduced adoption rates for dogs and puppies at the Beaufort County Shelter will be in effect. For more information, contact shelter staff in person at the shelter, call 252-946-4517 or email animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us.
Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.
All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs, ENC Shelter Cats and Washington Cat Rescue on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. The Humane Society of Beaufort County can also be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BeaufortCountyNCHumaneSociety.
Requests for more information with regard to the animals appearing in Pets of the Week may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter during business hours or by emailing animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us — always use the animal’s ID number.
Tuck
This sweet boy is an approximately 7-month-old juvenile, small/medium-size hound-mix. Cute as a button, Tuck has a mostly white shorthair coat with markings of reddish brown appearing to be dusted with powdered sugar. His nature is gentle, friendly, calm and unassuming. Tuck loves to enjoy himself, finding fun playing with a younger, smaller puppy during this photo session. Tuck, a great size for a house dog, needs owner(s) willing to give good care, love, affection, attention, exercise in a fenced area or on a leash and some basic obedience training. Tuck will make a great family member and companion, in a good loving, forever home.
For more information, visit www.facebook.com/EncShelterDogs. Tuck’s ID is No. 1818.
Come in and meet him; you’ll be glad you did. He will be available through next week at the shelter.

a glistening star on her chest that is the envy of the rich and famous worldwide, that’s our Arcy. Not just a pretty face but beautiful on the inside too, this gorgeous 6-year-old, big girl is fun with a clowning side to her personality. This wonderful cat will be a welcome addition in a variety of good forever, loving home settings, where she will blossom into a true companion and pet.
