GREENVILLE — 8U Greenville Titan Black put on a clinic Saturday afternoon. It scored 30 points in the first half en route to a 44-0 second-round win over the Washington Eagles.

Greenville performed well on offense, defense and special teams, but its sportsmanship left something to be desired. The home coaching staff used its last two timeouts in the final 30 seconds of the half to give Jaleek Parson time to score a last-second 18-yard touchdown that put the Titans ahead, 30-0, at halftime.

The Eagles got the ball to begin the game. They mustered some offensive momentum before ultimately punting the ball away. Kasyn Chase drew first blood shortly thereafter when he exploded for a 43-yard score.

Washington again seemed to threaten on its next drive. Justus Jennette bolted into thee red zone, but the run was called back due to a holding penalty. The Eagles ended up going three-and-out. Once Greenville got the ball back, Chase went on to dart 53 yards into the end zone.

That pushed the Titans’ lead to 14-0 with 5:50 left until halftime.

The following minutes saw an array of turnovers from both sides. Washington muffed the ensuing kickoff. Jennette quickly came up with an interception, only for Greenville to notch a pick of its own shortly after.

The Eagles ended up getting the ball back a few plays later, but only after Tanner Williams cut inside for a 30-yard score. Greenville added its last-second touchdown, scored on the second-half kickoff, then notched one more in the fourth quarter to lock down its spot in next weekend’s 8U Super Bowl.
