Published 12:05 am Saturday, December 23, 2017

In observance of Christmas, the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility will be closed Dec. 23 – 27, 2017.

Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the shelter, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs, ENC Shelter Cats and Washington Cat Rescue on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. The Humane Society of Beaufort County can also be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BeaufortCountyNCHumaneSociety.

Requests for more information with regard to the animals appearing in Pets of the Week may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter during business hours or by emailing animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us — always use the animal’s ID number.

Jasmine

Gorgeous in her American shorthair coat, this tabby girl is dressed in stripes of buff, silver and ebony. Highlights of white appear on her beautiful face; huge pale green eyes and a rosebud nose complete her stunning image. Friendly, loving and calm, our 2-year-old Jasmine will offer a meow and extend her paw in a greeting. She adores attention — petting and head bumps, especially. When given the love, warmth and stability of a good forever home, she will blossom into a devoted friend, pet and companion.

For more information, visit www.facebook.com/EncShelterCats/. Jasmine’s ID is No. 2168.

Come in and meet this remarkable cat; she’s available at the shelter.

Reba

This sweet girl is an approximately 2-year-old, small-size, hound mix. Reba, with beautiful markings in red and white, has warm melt-your-heart eyes and gorgeous hound ears.

Her nature is gentle, friendly and easygoing. Way too thin, Reba needs owner(s) willing to give her nutritious food on a regular schedule, good care, love, affection, attention, consistent exercise in a fenced area or on a leash and some basic obedience training. Reba will make a great family member and companion in a good loving, forever home.

For more information, visit www.facebook.com/EncShelterDogs. Reba’s ID No. 2158.

Come in and meet her — you’ll be glad you did. She’s available at the shelter.
