but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

Well, 2018 is finally here. With this new year there are bound to be both blessings and battles. We will surely see our share of both obstacles and opportunities. Through it all, I would like to share with you what I believe to be God’s promise for you this year from Isaiah 40:31. In 2018, God will bring you four things.

The first thing is “renewal” (renew their strength). Maybe 2017 was not such a good year. Perhaps you got the life and energy drained out of you. Even if 2017 was great, you still may feel drained at the end of the year. God promises to fill you back up with strength and energy for what He has prepared for you this year.

Secondly, God promises that you will “rise” (soar on wings like eagles). I believe this means two things. First, it could mean that you are finally going to rise above what has been holding you down and keeping you back for so long. Second, it could mean that this is the year that you will finally rise to be the man or woman of God you knew you could be.

God’s third promise for your life in 2018 is that you will “endure” (run and not grow weary). Don’t let it get to you. Let what get to you? Any of it, and all of it. Whatever you will find yourself up against this year, you will endure. You will see this to the end. You will make it to the finish line. There are challenges ahead, of course. That should be expected when you have such a calling on your life. You will make it through, and at the end you will see yourself not burned out or defeated.

Lastly, in 2018 God promises that you will “press on” (walk and not faint). I once preached a sermon titled, “Somehow, Press On!”. When those obstacles come, when you come up against that wall, when you hit that dead end, you won’t stop this time. This year, you will press on. This year, you won’t get discouraged. This year, Satan will learn that he can’t shake your faith anymore. Whereas previous years he may have been able to use some circumstance to stop you in your tracks. This year, you will press on. These are four promise found in Isaiah 40:31for your life in 2018. Will you receive them? If so, then be renewed, rise up, endure, and press on in Jesus name!
