New Librarian at the Tyrrell County Public Library

Just as the seasons change from winter into spring, the Tyrrell County Public Library has also made a major change recently. After being without a head librarian for many months, the library would like to formally introduce the addition of a new face, Mr. Jared Jacavone, as the new librarian.

Jared Jacavone, a resident of Riverside, Rhode Island, has joined the team at the library as the new County Librarian. Mr. Jacavone, a recent graduate from the University of Rhode Island, earned his Master’s Degrees in History and in Library and Information Studies. His experiences also include previous jobs as an adjunct curator for the Bristol Historical and Preservation Society, a Project Archivist at the Millis Public Library with a specialty in digital preservation, and a Reference Librarian at the Newport Library in his home state of Rhode Island. Jacavone’s interests include reading, historical interests, screenplays, homebrewing and martial arts.

On Friday, April 13th, from 3:30 – 5:30, the library, along with the Friends of the Tyrrell County Public Library, will be having a welcome reception with light refreshments to introduce Jared to the community.
