Rebecca Blackstock “Becky” Hartley

Mrs. Rebecca Blackstock “Becky” Hartley, of Grimesland, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at her home.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11AM in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Heber Singleton officiating.

A native of Durham, Becky had made her home in Greenville since 2004 and was a previous resident of Washington for more than 25 years. She was currently employed with Practicon in Greenville having started there in 2005. She had been a longtime attendee of Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Washington.

Becky will be fondly remembered as a kind-hearted loving person. She greatly loved her family and genuinely took interest in others. An optimistic and encouraging person by nature, Becky always made time to listen to the needs of others and willingly placed family ahead of herself. She was affectionately known as “Little Nanny” to her grandchildren whom she adored.

Becky was preceded in death by her father, Henry Blackstock.

She is survived by: Husband of 48 years, Charlie Edward Hartley, Jr.; Daughters, Melissa H. “Lisa” Woolard of Greenville and Theresa H. “Terri” Ainsley and husband, Stanley, of Washington; Grandchildren, Avery L. Woolard, Sarah E. Woolard, Ryan N. Ainsley and Bridget D. Ainsley, all of Washington; Mother, Mamie W. Hardison of Washington. Sister, Judy B. Singleton of Washington; Brothers, Timmy Blackstock and wife, Lois, of Chocowinity and Henry “Pee Wee” Blackstock of Pittsburgh, PA; And a few nieces and nephews;

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and at other times at her home.
