Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

Please note, the shelter will be closed to the public April 23-April 27 for shelter training.

Rescue groups may continue their work during this time period. The shelter also is closed on the first Wednesday of each month for cleaning and maintenance.

 

 

 

Jake

This treeing Walker/coonhound mix is a tricolor beauty with a friendly, playful and gentle personality, and he’s already neutered and ready to go home after his reduced fee is paid. Jake, an approximately 1-year-old, large fellow, displays characteristics of the fine breed he is descended from, and he will do best with an active family with owner(s) willing to give him lots of consistent exercise — playtime may be included — in a fenced area or on a leash, their love and attention, a good forever home and basic obedience training.

Bandit

Wearing a pale tan coat and dark brown facial features, Bandit, a large, 1-year-old German Shepherd mix, is a handsome fellow. A little bit shy, he warms up quickly and shows his quiet, friendly and sweet nature. Bandit will do best with owner(s) willing to give him their love and attention, consistent exercise in a fenced area or on a leash, basic obedience training and a good forever home. Bandit’s ID is No. 0374. Come in for a meet and greet with him at the shelter.
