Pinetown man charged with trafficking opium

On April 10, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Benson Curtis Jett, 50, of 14818 Hwy. 32 North in Pinetown. Jett was charged with trafficking in opium and possession with intent to sell and deliver oxycodone, a schedule II controlled substance.

Jett’s arrest stemmed from Investigators making purchases of oxycodone prescription pain pills from Jett. Jett was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $27,500 secured bond.
