PLYMOUTH — Ethel Bowen Browning, 80, of Plymouth died Friday, April 13, 2018, at Vidant Chowan

Hospital in Edenton.

Born March 18, 1938 in Bertie County she was the daughter of the late Henry W. Bowen and

Sarah Morris Bowen and was preceded in death by her sister, Elvie Bunch; brothers, Roy

Bowen, Harvey Bowen and Garland Bowen. Ethel started her working career as a fingerprint analyst with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, she later worked for and retired from Weyerhaeuser Corporation as a statics clerk and was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed her membership in the Mission Action Circle and the Red Hat Society.

Her family includes her husband, Arch Boyd Browning of Plymouth, N.C.; daughters, Winnie

O’Neil and husband Steve of Williamston, N.C. and Tawney Ambrose of Asheville, N.C.; son, Scott Browning and wife Phyllis of Rock Hill, S.C.; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held Monday, April 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Jimmy Hagwood and Mark Wilmoth officiating. Family will receive friends on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 309 Washington Street, Plymouth, N.C. 27962.
