From National Spinning Co., Inc.

During its executive board meeting on May 8, directors at National Spinning Co., Inc. elected executive leadership for the company, elevating Jim Booterbaugh, currently president and chief operating officer to become chief executive officer.

As CEO, Boorerbaugh will take over day-to-day leadership responsibilities from James W. Chessnutt, who will remain the company’s fulltime chairman of the board. Chessnutt will remain in an active role from the corperate office in Washington.

Linda Fanton, currently National Spinning’s chief financial officer, will retire later in the year and continue serving on the board of directors as treasurer/secretary.

David Swaim was named the new CFO replacing Fanton. He is a CPA, graduate of Guilford College and High Point University. He brings a wealth of financial and IT experience to the company.

Chessnutt has served the U.S. Textile industry for many years after starting his career in banking. He has strongly advocated for the industry at many levels, including as past chairman of the National Council of Textile Organizations and the American Textiles Manufacturers institute. He is also a past president of the Amarican Yarn Spinners Association and the North Carolina Textile Manufacturers Associatiaon. He currently serves on the NCTO’s Yarn Council. Chessnutt serves on many local boards, including Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, Beaufort County Community College and several East Carolina University boards.

Booterbaugah joined National Spinning as vice president of operations in 2004 after serving at Harriett & Henderson Yarns the eight years prior. He holds a B.S. degree in engineering from Virginia Tech and an M.S. in textile technology from the Institute of Textile Technology. Boot, as he is known, has been involved in many textile groups, serving as chairman of the Southern Textile Association. He is currently a member of the board of the National Council of Textile Organizations. He and his wife Ann live in Chapel Hill.
