Mrs. Patty Lynne Davis Smith, age 57, a resident of 136 Elks Lane, Chocowinity, died Tuesday morning, May 15, 2018, at Vidant Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2018, at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, officiated by Rev. Joe Ange.

Mrs. Smith was born in Pitt County on Oct. 19, 1960, daughter of the late Herbert Davis and Joyce Anderson Chrismon. She was a member of the 1978 graduating class of Chocowinity High School. Mrs. Smith was a cook at the Dairy Palace and Bill’s Hot Dogs. On Nov. 20, 1980, she married Robert Duane “Sam” Smith who preceded her in death on May 27, 2004.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her son, Leland Smith, of Williamson; her daughter, Holly Smith, of Chocowinity; her grandchildren, Haydon and Lydia Smith; her mother-in-law, Jean Williams-Mercer and husband Roger, of Washington; and her aunts, Ann Clark and husband Bill, of Grimesland, and Linda Harrelson, of Greenville. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her grandmother, Lillian Anderson, and her step-father, Elwood Chrismon.

The family will receive friends at2 p.m., one hour prior to the service on Friday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home of her mother-in-law, Jean Williams-Mercer, 118 Jackson St., Washington.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Pamlico Animal Hospital, 3005 John Small Avenue, Washington, NC 27889
