COMMUNITY SERVICE: Four Girl Scouts from Troop 1016 worked on their hours for their Bronze Award by building six benches at the local Girl Scout camp at Camp Hardee on Saturday. These benches were installed around a newly built fire circle at the campground. The girls learned to use a tape measure, power drill, a level, square and posthole diggers. Some girls already knew how to use some of these tools so it was a refresher but for others this was a new skill.  They also learned to pack dirt and clay into holes in the ground to make the benches sturdy. Lon Everette, camp ranger at Camp Hardee, was very pleased with their work and also how well they worked together.  Pictured, from left to right, are Grace Elks, Kaitlyn Boyd, Maria Wainwright and KayLee Haddock.
