Mrs. Ernestine Daniels Lane, age 95, a resident of Washington, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018, in Hampton, Virginia.

A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be conducted by Pastor George Daniels. Gordon Pippin, Charlie Pippin, Freddie Pippin, Don Pippin, Thomas Hayes and David Hayes will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Lane was born Aug. 14, 1922, in Beaufort County to the late James Marion Daniels and Georgia O’Neal Daniels. On Dec. 25, 1937, she married Delmar Wilson Lane, who preceded her death on Aug. 28, 1992. She was a homemaker and was a member of West End Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Delmar Lane Jr., of Washington, Larry Wayne Hoffman, of Beulaville; one daughter, Georgia M. Hayes, of Hampton, Virginia; three grandchildren, Abbie Lane Jr., Thomas Hayes, David Hayes; four great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Abbie Lane; three brothers, Jack Daniels, Allie Daniels, George Daniels; and three sisters, Ruby Pippin, Helen Dixon and Margie Sykes.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
