Betty Ann Woolard Smith, 71, formally of Washington, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Betty was born in Washington on March 20, 1947, to late James Woolard and Martha Harris Woolard. Betty retired from Stanadyne in Washington, was of the Methodist faith and always loved animals.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Harvey Eugene Smith Sr.; her son, Harvey E. Smith Jr.; and two brothers.

In addition to one brother and four sisters, Betty is survived by daughter, Tammy Latham, of Raleigh; and sons, Michael Smith, Brian Latham and Alex Latham. Betty is also survived by daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Bob Matthews, of Rockwell, NC; and sons, Jonathan Matthews and Jason Matthews.

A private memorial service held at a later date in Washington.
