Mr. Thomas H. Evans, Jr., 87, of Washington, died Saturday, June 23, 2018.

A graveside service will be held Monday, June 25, 2018, at 10 a.m. in Pinewood Memorial Park.

Mr. Evans, a native of Beaufort County, had lived in Pitt County and Beaufort County and attended Chocowinity Schools. He was owner and operator of Evans Seafood in Greenville for 40 years and Dairy Palace, in Washington, for 30 years. He was also a proud member of Peace Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his son, Thomas “Harold” Evans, III; and his sisters and his brother.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Edna Carrow Evans; son, Tim Evans and wife Darlene; daughter-in-law, Joan K. Evans; grandchildren, Michael Shawn Evans and wife Jennifer, Catherine Nikki Cutler and husband Todd, Timothy Evans, and Nathan Evans; three great-grandchildren, Parker and Caroline Evans, and Sierra Cutler; and Mary Rossie, who was a devoted, loyal, and loving friend.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834 or to Peace Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 2480 West 5th Street, Washington, NC, 27889.
