A Common Pea Island Refuge Shorebird

You may see Willets (Tringa semipalmata) searching for food while wading in the marshy sound, shallow ponds, mudflats, or walking along the open ocean shoreline portions of Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge. Willets eat small crabs (such as mole and fiddler) clams, insects, snails, worms and other invertebrates.
