Pets of the Week: July 1, 2018

Published 9:14 pm Friday, June 29, 2018

Please note: the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility will be closed Wednesday in observance of the July 4 holiday.

During the month of June adoption rates for cats and kittens are reduced at the Shelter. This is made possible by the Humane Society of Beaufort County. For more information, call HSBC at 252-946-1591.

Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs, ENC Shelter Cats and Washington Cat Rescue on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. The Humane Society of Beaufort County can also be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BeaufortCountyNCHumaneSociety.

Requests for more information with regard to the animals appearing in Pets of the Week may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter during business hours or by emailing animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us — always use the animal’s ID number.

Please note, the shelter is closed on the first Wednesday of each month for cleaning and maintenance.

Ryder

Friendly, happy, sweet and smart, Ryder appears to have had some training, and he definitely wants to please people. At approximately 7 months old, Ryder, an American pit bull terrier mix, is handsome in his tan and white shorthair coat and gorgeous heart-melting golden eyes. This large boy will do best with a loving, attentive and active family who will give him plenty of regular exercise and play — preferably in a fenced area or on a leash — take him with them on their outings, give him obedience training and a good forever home. When making inquiries about Ryder, use his ID No. 0883. Come meet him, he’s available at the shelter.

Peter Pan, Wendy, Cpt. Hook and Smeed

Packed with personality and cute as can be, this foursome of kittens will make wonderful additions in a variety of good, forever home settings. Wearing gorgeous American shorthair coats in shades/tints of orange and white, these 2-month-old tabby kittens love being held, showered with attention and played with. When given the love, warmth and stability of good forever homes all will blossom into devoted friends, pets and companions. Smeed’s ID is No. 0891; Peter Pan’s ID, No. 0892; Cpt. Hook, ID No. 0893; Wendy’s ID, No. 0894. Come in — they’re available at the shelter, and they’d love to meet you.
