Temperature above 90 degrees, high humidity, and threatening clouds enveloped these soybeans beside Jerry Post Office Road south of Columbia on July 1. Tyrrell farmers have planted 13,804 acres, with much more to come, the Farm Service Agency reports. Last year’s soybean crop was 36,983 acres, ranking Tyrrell as a major agricultural county.
