Mrs. Ruth Ellen Hicks Warner, age 74, a resident of 1270 Slatestone Road, Washington, died Monday, July 2, 2018, at her home.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home.

Ruth was born in Miami, Florida, on Sept. 3, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Theodore Yow Hicks and Marie Brooks Hicks. Ruth was a retired secretary with the Beaufort County Building Inspections Office.

Ruth is survived by her husband of twenty-four years, Charlie Lee Warner, Jr., of the home; four children, Kathy (Chris) Jones, of Southern Pines, C.T. (Kathy) Dupree, of Washington, Stephen (Rachel) Warner, of Farmville, Tim Warner (Becky), of Blounts Creek; eight grandchildren, Brittany (Wayne) Unkefer, Alyssa and Casey Jones, Jonathan and Tori Dupree, Lee (Jullian), Andrew and Martha Warner; four great-grandchildren, Rilen and Emma Unkefer, Trenton and Jackson Warner; two sisters, Kay (Willard) Jones, of Bristow, Virginia, Fay (Charlie) Isenock, of Summerfield, N.C.; and sister-in-law, Lou Deppa, of Florida.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charlie and Maude Warner, and a son, Michael Todd Warner.
