Seven people have been charged with a variety of drug-related offenses this week, stemming from complaints that methamphetamine was being used and sold at a residence in the 7200 block of Broad Creek Road.

According to a press release from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, investigators did surveillance and executed a search warrant at the residence, discovering meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia used for the packaging, preparation, weighing and use of meth and marijuana.

According to BCSO Drug Unit Lt. Russell Davenport, approximately six grams of meth was seized. The release states that the BCSO made the arrests on Wednesday.

“We had so many complaints from concerned citizens about the strange activity occurring at the house late at night and concerns about them selling, using and possibly cooking meth,” Davenport said.

While Davenport says that surveillance found no evidence of meth being manufactured at the residence, investigators did discover evidence that the drug was being used and distributed. He went on to say that the drugs were not manufactured in Beaufort County.

“The agency where the source is located is aware of the investigation,” Davenport said. “They know who the source is, and that source is under investigation.”

Adding to the potential dangers, Davenport said the residence in question is located adjacent to the Broad Creek EMS building.

“If they were possibly cooking, it’s always a concern having neighbors, but having the EMS building right beside them was another concern,” Davenport said.
