Linda Vee Brewer Calvert

Linda Vee Brewer Calvert, 75, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 21, 2018. The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Smith Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Linda, daughter of the late Linwood and Genevieve Brewer, attended J.H. Rose High School and finished her high school diploma as an adult in Beaufort, South Carolina. She worked over 25 years with Hargray Communication Group in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Upon retirement, she moved back to Greenville to be near family. She was a member of Arlington Blvd Baptist Church where she was a member of the Gibbs Sunday school class. She loved to crochet but most importantly, loved to travel to Europe and go to Pamlico Beach, Pawleys Island and Emerald Isle with the “Beach Girls.” Her grandchildren brought her much joy and she enjoyed spending time with them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy Warren and Col. Frank Lewis Brewer, USMC (Ret.) She is survived by her sons, Michael Benton and wife Melba of Raleigh and Lenwood Harris and wife Shelly of Bluffton, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Kayla, Logan and Amelia; sisters, Leytha Mobley and husband Rev. Bill Mobley of Washington and Evelyn Blizzard; and a brother, Linwood E. Brewer, Jr. “Woody,” both of Greenville.
