Aurora — Lola Conley Evans, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and committed teacher, passed into heaven the morning of Wednesday, July 25, 2018.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Edwin Evans, her son and daughter-in-law, Conley and Julie Evans, and her grandchildren, Ethan and Sonja.

Lola had a love of all things cat and she was a life-long Baltimore Orioles fan. Lola spent 30 years teaching in Beaufort County Schools. She touched countless lives with her love of reading and dedication to her students. She frequently encountered students in the community who fondly recounted their time in her classroom. Before her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with Ed. They enjoyed road trips and attending cowboy re-enactment shooting competitions. Lola dressed the part of a Wild West Lady in period costuming alongside Ed’s SASS characters.

A memorial service for Lola will be held at Aurora United Methodist Church on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at 2 p.m. The family will receive guests at their home on Bay City after the memorial.
