This pumping station at the north end of Phelps Road and a network of canals drain surface water from thousands of crop acres encircled by Bodwell and Newlands roads in Tyrrell County. The drainage system and much adjacent farmland are owned by Farmland Reserve Inc., an agency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
