PLYMOUTH — Raymond Earl Ellis, 64, of Plymouth died Friday, August 3, 2018, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Born October 21, 1953 in Washington County he was the son of the late Raymond Junior Ellis and Dora Dee Waters Ellis and was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Waters Davey.

Raymond was a retired construction foreman and member of Mount Olive Free Will Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and member of Ridge Hunting Club, Swamp Bottom Hunting Club and Cashie River Gun Club.

His family includes his wife, Barbara Harris Ellis of Plymouth, N.C.; daughter, Erin Ellis White of Jamesville, N.C.; sons, Raymond Earl Ellis, Jr. of Leesburg, VA., James Brian

Cahoon of Fairfield, N.C. and Timothy Dale Cahoon of Swan Quarter, N.C.; grandchildren, Walter Cahoon, Autumn Cahoon, William Cahoon, Aubrey White, Matthew Ellis and Marissa Ellis.

Memorial service will be held Monday, August 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth with Reverend Ben Cope officiating. Family will receive friends on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
