Mr. Augustus Turner Blake, age 87, a resident of 120 Pungo View Road, Belhaven, died at home Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018, after a battle with cancer.

Mr. Blake was born April 28, 1931, son of Matthew Blake and Elizabeth Lilley Blake, and served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.   He is survived by his two caregivers, Viola J. Hopkins and Wyatt Hopkins, of the home; and a sister, Aletha Fredericks, of the Outer Banks in North Carolina. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
