Miss Carol Jeannette Duncan, age 54, a resident of 305 Smaw Road, Washington, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, at Bath Christian Church, conducted by Pastor Jim Cullen, Dr. Doug Stokes and Rock Holliday. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington.

The following will serve as pallbearers: Rock Holliday, Chris Alligood, Brad Alligood, Cole Duncan, Austin Elks and Alex Rowe.

Miss Duncan was born in Columbus, Georgia, on June 16, 1964. She was the daughter of Jeannette Willis Duncan and the late Gary Neil Duncan. Miss Duncan was very active in the American Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary. She volunteered for many years at Beaufort County Hospital. Miss Duncan attended Camp Rainbow in Arapahoe for over 40 years. She loved to dance, attend concerts and attended the Friday night dances at the Red Men Hall. Miss Duncan participated in the Special Olympics, riding Western in the equestrian events. While living in Bath, she loved Bath High School and attended all their football games. Miss Duncan attended Bath Christian Church and Proctor Memorial Christian Church.

Miss Duncan is survived by her mother, Jeannette Duncan, of the home; brother, David Neil Duncan, of the home; nieces, Shelley Duncan and her boyfriend, Miciah Masters Butler, of Wilmar, and Macie Leighty Oesterreich; nephew, Thomas Cole Duncan and girlfriend Jaclyn Cullipher, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Miss Duncan was preceded in death by her father, Gary Neil Duncan, and her sister, Christine Alice Duncan.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home.
