Sharon Dalton “Sherrie” Carawan

Sharon Dalton “Sherrie” Carawan, 67, of Swan Quarter, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Sherrie was born in Canton, Ohio, to the late Harrison and Mollie Dalton. She was married to Charles Allen Carawan, who survives.

She was a member of the Swan Quarter Baptist Church. She and her husband were owners and operators of Mattamuskeet Seafood.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, at the family plot in Soule Cemetery. Pastor Jimmy Johnson will officiate.

In addition to her husband, surviving are two sons, Chad Cahoon and wife Stephanie, Cory Carawan and wife Callie, both of Swan Quarter; a daughter, Amy C. Bennett and husband Phelps, of Chocowinity; six grandchildren, Rhett Cahoon, Mikayla Wells, Carly Carawan, Charlee Carawan, Phelps Bennett and Gabby Bennett; two brothers, Arkey Dalton and Harry Dalton, and one sister, Marlene Rosebrock, all of Columbus, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nina Hardison and Rosalee Voliva.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
