Aurora Hazard Mitigation meeting scheduled for Tuesday

AURORA — Beaufort County Emergency Services will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at the Aurora Community Center for people who suffered significant flood damage from Hurricane Florence. The meeting will cover how to apply for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funding that could be used to elevate, demolish or otherwise protect homes from future flood damage. In order to qualify, the impacted home must be your primary residence.

To receive an application for the HMGP program:

  • Call 252-940-6517 leaving a message
  • Email the request to Lisa.Williams@co.beaufort.nc.us
  • Pick up the application in person, weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm. at the front desk of the County Manager’s Office at 121 W. Third St.

The meeting will take place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at 442 Third St., Aurora. Residents will have opportunities to ask questions and learn more about the process.
