Joan Carolyn Phelps Harrell, 64, of Plymouth died Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville.

Born October 29, 1954 in Washington County she was the daughter of the late Aubrey Gerald Phelps, Sr. and Margaret Bagley Phelps Moore who survives. She was a homemaker and member of Grace Baptist Church.

Her family includes her mother, Margaret Bagley Phelps Moore of Plymouth; husband, Joseph Lannie “Joe” Harrell, Sr. of Plymouth; daughter, Ruth Harrell Snell and husband Jared of Plymouth; son, Joseph L. “Joey” Harrell, Jr. and wife Morgan of

Benson; sisters, Faith Phelps Noell and husband David of Plymouth and Angelia

Phelps and husband Troy of Washington; brother, Aubrey Gerald “Jerry” Phelps, Jr.

and wife Karen of Plymouth; grandchildren, McKellon Snell, Henderson Snell, A.J.

Harrell and Leo Harrell.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth with Pastor Lee Price officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth and other times at the residence of her daughter, Ruth.
